Four Brave Women at Carriageworks

February 11, 2019 by Jenny

“Our most memorable food experience back in Iraq was actually the people that we shared food with more than the food itself. We can make the same food here but we cannot share meals with the same people and some of our best memories are sitting around a table with family and friends eating a…

Sydney Symphony 2019 Season Opening Gala

February 10, 2019 by Jenny

There is always something special and noble dressing up for a night out at the Sydney Opera House to listen to some of the finest music Australia has on offer. I was thrilled to attend the Sydney Symphony Orchestra’s 2019 Season Opening Gala last night with my lovely friend Dea (from the Shangri-La Sydney hotel…

Becoming a Canberran :: Design Canberra Festival 2018

November 24, 2018 by Jenny

Honestly, where has the time gone? I’ve been quiet on the website blog  as I’ve temporarily moved to Canberra from beginning of October for 3 months for a work assignment (day job) and finding my feet in our nation’s capital. I hate to say it but Christmas is just a month away and soon I’ll…

See.Taste.Do on the NSW Central Coast

October 1, 2018 by Jenny

There may be no harbour bridge or opera house but NSW Central Coast has its own maestro. The Central Coast has changed a lot over the years. My last memory of visiting the Central Coast was many, many years ago where I attended a work conference at the Crowne Plaza Terrigal. The organisers then probably…

Billabong Retreat Sydney :: Where silence is a rare treat

September 23, 2018 by Jenny

Say the words ‘yoga retreat’ and I think of getting on a plane to blissful sanctuaries high up in the mountains in India, the lush green jungle of Bali or on secluded beaches in Thailand. I could do that, or I could experience bliss by making an hour car trip from Sydney CBD to out…

Recipe :: Easy vegetarian bolognese

September 10, 2018 by Jenny

Is it possible to make vegetarian bolognese sauce taste good too? Yes it is and ever since I discovered nutritional yeast, a delicious umami, savoury taste and a source of complete protein and vitamins, in particular B-complex vitamins making it a great superfood, I find I can go wholly vegetarian but still have the similar flavour and…

Recipe :: My humble healthier carrot cake

September 2, 2018 by Jenny

Nothing compares baking your own carrot cake once you have nailed the recipe. I went down to my local bakery to grab some afternoon tea during the work week and I thought to try their carrot cake. It tasted like there was unnecessarily a lot of cream and white sugar.  The carrot cake I usually…

Billabong Retreat Sydney :: Executive Chef Profile – Simon Favourito

August 29, 2018 by Jenny

Last week my friend and I stayed at the Billabong Retreat and participated in the Wellness Essentials retreat. An aspect of the Wellness Essentials retreat we enjoyed at the Billabong, in addition to the twice daily yoga sessions in a bush setting, was the food that Executive Chef and Head of Wholefood Education, Simon Favourito…
