Curation of things you can "see, taste and do"

Flavours By The Sea hosted by Central Coast Council

April 5, 2021 by Jenny

To me the Central Coast has always been a culinary trip on the coast that’s ‘doable’ over a weekend. Being just under two hours drive from Sydney and people phased out by the the uncertainty of sudden border closures if they move across interstate borders due to COVID, travel and exploring places to see, taste and do within NSW is a wonderful alternative to relax, unwind and explore and to help support local businesses. The Central Coast has been host to many wondering foodies and entertainment events over the years and this year Central Coast Council is celebrating Harmony Week with a live multicultural event – Flavours by the Sea. The event is where you can celebrate the Coast’s diversity with a taste of the world’s best food, music and art on Saturday 17 April 2021 at Memorial Park, The Entrance from 11am–3pm.

Taste the flavours of the world at Flavour Alley featuring Spanish, German and Vietnamese food stalls, enjoy a drink at the Six String Brewery Beer and Wine Bar or check out an amazing Indigenous Art Exhibition.

You can enjoy free live entertainment throughout the day, with a great main stage line-up including headliner Christine Anu and supports Salsa Kingz and Dogma. You will also get to see Community Group performances from Afro Moses, the Multicultural Fijian Association and China Australia Friendship Association.

Our diversity makes Australia a great place to live. Harmony Day is a celebration of our cultural diversity – a day of cultural respect for everyone who calls Australia home. The message of Harmony Day is ‘everyone belongs’ and the day aims to engage people to participate in their community, respect cultural and religious diversity and foster sense of belonging for everyone.

Flavours By The Sea is suitable for all ages and is a seated event with limited capacity, to comply with current COVID-19 restrictions. While this is a free event, bookings are essential and tickets will be allocated on a first in best dressed basis. Book now to avoid disappointment.

Meanwhile, whilst you’re up at the Central Coast, here are some suggestions of places you can see, taste and do if you’re planning a weekend up there:

Hello! I am Jenny, creator of my blog, See.Taste.Do which is simply a curation of things I love to see, taste and do. I write personal stories of my experiences mainly in Sydney, Australia but also beyond when I travel. I am a food photographer for restaurants and also love creating, styling and photographing recipes of good food that are easy to make and nourish your body and mind. I have a fondness for fresh produce, things that grow in farms, markets, restaurants and cafes, dance classes, musical theatre and getaways in luxurious hotels and resorts.
