Curation of things you can "see, taste and do"

Gotcha Fresh Tea opens in Sydney

July 4, 2019 by Jenny

Quiet achievers are underrated. My friend Amy is young (no more than 30 years old), energetic and quite an established entrepreneur. From setting up a few cafes in Sydney from scratch and running them successfully, Amy has now brought the Gotcha Fresh Tea concept to Sydney, with the launch of her first stores a few weeks ago.  Amy is surely a young lady who inspires when it comes to success in business in the hospitality industry.

I remember Amy told me late last year she was bringing in a new tea concept to Sydney (and the original store is based in Melbourne) and I thought it was probably similar to the Asian bubble tea drinks we have seen, which admittedly I don’t consume because it’s too sugary. I was wrong. Amy said to me Gotcha Fresh Tea is different because her focus on this tea concept is firstly, making tea that is “more healthy” by having it freshly made and using less sugar and secondly, Amy is on a mission to reduce single use plastic. Two thumbs up for me so far.

I’ve known Amy’s work ethic, attention to detail and the quality of her food and service from going to her The Naked Duck and Grand Duk cafes and I was confident that if Amy was to introduce Gotcha Fresh Tea to Sydney, everything produced and delivered from her stores to customers will be to a high standard. I haven’t been disappointed yet.

I visited one of her Gotcha Fresh Tea stores in Sydney and there is already one opened in Dixon Street in Chinatown a few more popping up in Sydney in the next year or so.

There are currently 20 different types of Gotcha Fresh Tea drinks to try and generally they can be broadly categorised between milk base and no milk base.  I prefer non-milk based teas and my favourites are the Gotcha Signature Fruit Tea (No.6) and the Aloe Vera Collagen Tea (No.15)

The Gotcha Signature Fresh Tea is made from real tea, freshly brewed and real fruits. Gotcha Fresh Tea is farmed and picked from a single tea plantation in Mount Ali, Taiwan, one of the best sources in the world for high quality tea.

The Aloe Vera Collagen tea quenches your thirst and keeps you hydrated not to mention it has ingredients in it to make your skin glow and look good.

A new flavour is about to be launched next week and that’s the Mulberry Tea which is sourced from Australia. I tried it last night and it again refreshing and not too sweet. Their new Galaxy range too are visually appealing and the colours in them are natural and from the colours of edible flowers. Try the Lychee Galaxy. It’s very addictive and it’s a wonderful change to treat your tastebuds to so many different flavours of tea. I’m still working through their menu list. You’ll be sure to be well hydrated.

I have to say Gotcha Fresh Teas are something I could consume everyday. I’m addicted. What’s your favourite Gotcha drink?
