Curation of things you can "see, taste and do"

Sydney Event :: One Fine Day Wedding Fair 2017 :: A peek at the Bridal Runways

February 5, 2017 by Jenny

I first was
introduced to One Fine Day, a wedding fair 2 years ago when my wedding dress
designer at the time suggested I check out this wedding fair which is a more
refreshingly curated and creative event than the large traditional bridal expos, with a handpicked collection of sought after vendors in the wedding field. Not only is One Fine Day the perfect outlet for creative couples to gain inspiration from unique vendors in the planning of their big day, but a fun way to spend a Saturday or Sunday with your friends/family/bridal party. She was right. On a
smaller scale, one of the most interesting aspects of this event are the bridal
couture runways which showcases bridal designers’ latest ideas on bridal
fashion. Unveiled in a romantic, nature like setting at The Cutaway in
Barangaroo, all designs were eye catching with looks that yes, bowed to
tradition but adding a touch of sultriness, flamboyant ruffles, intricate
floral details, slender arm-sheathing sleeves, some with chaste necklines, some
more provocative.

Here’s a
peek of what I captured yesterday from front row seats at the bridal runways
and the fair. Simply stunning.

There were
no shortage of wedding caterers at the event too.

A fine
young gentleman at the fair in Sydney yesterday comes up to
me and asks, “Would you like to try some cake?” I would’ve ordinary
said yes but blogging duties called and said “No thank you but if you let
me know where your stall is I’ll come and visit after the bridal runways.”
A visit I made, and this gentleman was the function and events manager for the
Fink Group, who look after Quay Restaurant, Bennelong
Sydney, Firedoor and Otto Ristorante
… “Oh a very good friend of mine is getting married in Otto in a few
months.” I said. “Really, which month” he asks.
“April” I replied. When I mentioned her name he replies, “I’m
looking after her wedding!!” OMG!!! What a small world. “Nice to meet
you, my name is Thibault”. Thank you Thibault from the Fink Group for
offering me a piece of chocolate cake because if you didn’t, I would not have
known you were looking after my good friend’s wedding!

One Fine
Day is a great event to attend to obtain a curated inspiration for all creative
things related to weddings. With Sydney event now done and dusted, Melbourne is next followed by Perth and New York.
