I’ve been a little absent from the Blog for a few weeks as I have been travelling the world: Spain and Dubai with Emirates Airlines to be precise and I’ve just landed back in Sydney and recovering from jet lag. All in good time I will tell you about my trip if you haven’t already been following on Instagram and Facebook. It’s taken me about 2-3 days to settle back in home and how hot is it in Sydney?! This is my first blog post in Sydney after my overseas trip and this is worth showcasing as we approach the festive season and time for decorative cakes!
This weekend I had coffee and cake with Orlando, founder and cake designer of Black Velvet in Darlinghurst, Sydney. And I was surprised with this wonderful Christmas cake as a gift to me from Orlando! Orlando’s cake store in Darlinghurst looks like an art museum. I remember when Black Velvet was a little start up and one of our first ever events we held together was the Fashion High Tea event with Mercedes Benz Fashion Week designers I helped organise. Now Black Velvet Sydney has become one of the most successful growth stories in Sydney and nationally with its recently launched national delivery service, with many high end and celebrities as his clients including high end fashion designers, mining magnates and large corporates.I’m sincerely happy to have watched his business grow and to become what it has become. And have a look at this Christmas cake Gingerbread house he made for me. Well and truly too beautiful to eat. Well done, Orlando you deserve every bit of success and may you continue to grow and become a huge success. All my blessings!
