What I loved about it too was the bollywood dancing and my dear friend, Pradnya was in the film! Imagine seeing a friend in a Sydney film unexpectedly on the big screen and she features as Rohini’s flashback in her Bollywood actress days! Well done Pradnya for the film feature and your beautiful dance pose presented to a large, packed out crowd at Events George St cinema in Sydney last night!

The mood changes when we watch the full feature film, called Angry Indian Goddesses, about a group Indian girlfriends that get together and explores various social issues facing women in modern India. Freida, a fashion photographer invites her friends to her famiy home to announce that she is getting married. The group consists of Madhurita or Mad (Anushka Manchanda), a Bollywood singer, Pamela Jaswal or Pammy (Pavleen Gujral), a trophy wife, Suranjana or Su (Sandhya Mridul), a businesswoman, Nargis (Tannishtha Chatterjee), an activist, and Joanna or Jo (Amrit Maghera), an aspiring actress. The gathering sets off a chain of reactions and hidden secrets. After the announcement the wild bunch of girls head to Goa, thus begins an impromptu bachelorette party, and a riotous roller-coaster ride of girl bonding. Amidst the fun and frenzy, the girls are oblivious of the impending doom and go on living life like there is no tomorrow. The film has brilliant acting, is mixed mood, fast pace, dramatic and very confronting. It’s a story that’s well told.
