We’re officially at a time of year where something warm needs to be put on in the morning but by midday you feel like you need to tear them off or die from heatstroke. So for the in-between seasons, Metalicus has a good range for layering. I tried out the Metalicus AW’16 merino wool blends collection ahead of Wool Week Australia 2016.
The light grey top I’m wearing is a cardigan from Metalicus’ Gina Collection, their exclusive wool blend comprised of merino wool ultra, a luxurious next generation yarn. This wool blend is a new signature Australian wool blend, exclusive to Metalicus. As the weather is getting cold but not quite chilly, this is a perfect lightweight, ‘soft on your skin’ cardigan that can be worn casually on weekends or alternatively dressed up for a work week. The Gina Collection is not only lightweight and warm, but also the premium and innovative fabric is breathable, machine washable, and retains its shape. There are three new styles (of which the cardigan is one) across four classic colours.
I chose to dress it up a bit by tying it with a black belt at the waist to give the cardigan more structure and shape (or you can wear it without the belt for a more casual look which would go well with jeans or smart pair of trousers). I also wanted to lift the mood of the outfit by adding a splash of plum hues in my shoes, clutch and for the chilly city mornings during the work week, a matching scarf. The grey cardigan can be your basics and if it’s really cold you can layer something over, like the Metalicus Hyde Coat which features a beautiful waffle jacquard and side pockets. The coat is medium in weight and so it is easy to carry around making it a great transeasonal piece (P.S. My mother loves it for this reason and looks like I may have to have a sharing arrangement with her).
Hear are some ideas on how to style some of the Metalicus’ pieces. Thank you to Metalicus for partnering on this post.
